2nd phase Cairns Exploratory Drilling

Hayleys Energy Services eclipses the competition Dominates 2nd phase Cairns Exploratory Drilling by bagging 8 key contracts. Making its mark as the energy arm of Hayleys Advantis, Hayleys Energy Services (HES)together with the strengths of its sister companies’ secured eight major support service contracts for the second phase of exploratory drilling which commenced operations in February 2013 in the Mannar Basin.

The second phase drilling campaign was conducted in the deep-water SL-2007-01-001 Block, Gulf of Mannar, with the engagement of the Transocean drill ship “Discoverer Seven Seas”. As primary subcontractor to Cain Lanka Pvt Ltd for this project with national significance, HES seized the entire gamut of logistics support services by securing 8 key contracts.

Hayleys Energy Services Completes Landmark Oil Rig Offloading Project in Trincomalee Anchorage

Hayleys Energy Services, the pioneer in Oil and Gas support services in Sri Lanka, announced that it had successfully completed the offloading of the Semi-Submersible oil rig “Olinda Star” at the Trincomalee Port Anchorage recently. This deep-water rig is capable of drilling at water depths of up to 3,600 feet and has a drilling depth capacity of up to 24,600 feet.

QGOG Constellation is equipped with a premium fleet of Oil Rigs with a proven track record and world class QHSE standards. The modern fleet of QGOG includes ultra- deepwater rigs, deepwater rigs, midwater rigs, onshore rigs and FPSOs. QGOG appointed Hayleys Energy Services as the exclusive service provider and Sri Lankan representative for the handling of the rig “Olinda Star” in Sri Lanka.

The rig was being dry towed from Rio, Brazil to Trincomalee Anchorage, Sri Lanka aboard “Dockwise Mighty Servant 1”, one of the world’s largest heavy lift carriers. The Trincomalee Port Anchorage was selected for its ideal conditions of stable and safe sea conditions for offloading/loading such large Oil Rigs with the much needed deep sea depths, sheltered-calm waters and swing radius. Upon completing a safe and incident free offloading of the Oil Rig ‘Olinda Star”, the rig was towed from Trincomalee Port, Sri Lanka to Kakinda, India by the lead towing Anchor Handling Tug Supply (AHTS) vessel of Swire “Pacific Diligence” and supported by the AHT “Lady Sandra”.

QGOG had contracted Hayleys Energy Services to manage all aspects of this Rig Offloading project in Sri Lanka, where Hayleys Energy Services had to coordinate and handle the offloading of the rig “Olinda Star” in close liaison with the Deputy Harbour Master of Trincomalee Port and Port Officials throughout this complex and challenging operation.

The wide end-to- end service range provided by Hayleys Energy Services as a one-stop- shop, included providing three Tugs and Supply Vessels owned by Sri Lanka Shipping Company (the most recent acquisition of Hayleys Advantis Limited) namely; “Hercules”, “Mahawewa” and “Capricorn” for the offloading operation, supply of Bunker fuels, fenders, fresh water, stores, provisions, welding and unlashing/cutting of sea fastening, skilled workers, divers, crew changes, 02 dedicated passenger transfer boats to transfer passengers to and from the rig, domestic air transfers from Colombo to Trincomalee vice versa, onshore hospitality services including hotel accommodation, F&B Supplies, medical supplies, emergency response and standby services and overseeing the entire Sri Lankan offloading operation.
